TBM(Tunnel Boring Machine)

This is a mechanized tunneling technology by Semi-Shield / Shield TBM. This machine is determined in soil type according to the geological features. It is set undergound for operationat the vertial casing of excavation. It is equipped with cylinder-typed construction outside - pipe or segment consisting of cutter head, main machine, slurry system.

There are two types of earth pressure balance shield and a slurry shield.

Earth Pressure Blance Shield

Slurry Shield

-The soil is excavated by its rotating cutting wheel. The excawated soil passes into and fills the excavation chameber which is under pressure. The screw conveyor continuously regulates the amount of the excavated soil in and its removal from the chamber(control of soil pressure)and removes the soil into the tunnel. The excavated solid material is conveted by muck car or belt-convetor.Aboveground equipment is more simple than that of slurry shield

- Suitable for changeable geology.

-The soil is excavated under maintenance of proper pressure required to support the tunnel by filling the excavation chamber positioned in front TMB with excavated of soil plus ventonite suspension. the soil is mixed with the stabilizing medium in the chamber. Pumped awat by air-compressed pump through pipe up to the desander above-ground which separated stabilizer from mucks.

- Suitable for fractured soil gone and soil under extremely high water pressuer
